Agbim Seeks Forgiveness Over Blunders Vs Mozambique

Chigozie Agbim

Home Eagles goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim has said he was disappointed to concede a soft goal against Mozambique in a CHAN Group A match on Wednesday night.

Skipper Agbim was beaten by a Dario Khan 50-yard free kick in the 10th minute to give Mozambique some hope before the Super Eagles turned on their style to finally win 4-2 at the Cape Town Stadium.

“I was disappointed because I don’t think any goalkeeper can be happy conceding that kind of goal,” said Agbim.

“But I wish to thank my fellow players because they have told me to keep strong, keep going and they will fight for me. They are amazing players.”

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi said he could not defend the Enugu Rangers shot stopper on the stunning opening goal on Wednesday.

Agbim has come under attack from even the Nigerian fans in Cape Town.

“There is a problem with our goalkeeper and the way he coordinates with the defenders,” said David Okocha, who is based in Cape Town.
