Ogun Police Parade Suspected Fake Customs, Police Papers Counterfeiters



A four man gang that specializes in the production of fake Customs papers and Police tinted glass permit has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

The arrests were made after a tip off from members of the general public.

Items recovered from the syndicate included desktop computers, printers, typewriters, different types of company seal, including seal of the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and completed documents about to be issued to unsuspected members of the public.

Parading the suspects and the items recovered from them, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, while assuring the public of adequate safety of lives and property, however asked them to be wary of the activities of dubious people in the society.

The four man syndicate led by a 34 year old Austin Henry, a graduate of Computer Science were said to have been arrested along the border town of Idi Iroko, between Ogun State and Benin Republic.

For three years they have been in the business of duping unsuspecting customers by issuing fake Customs papers and fake tinted glass police permits.

The Police also recovered 10 different brands of guns, magazines, ammunition, and seven vehicles, which included a Sienna Le Gold without registration, a Honda Acura with registration number, Lagos EKY 357 AT, Honda CRV with registration number Lagos EPE 948 BS among others.

A 39 year old currency counterfeiter was also arrested, the Police said that investigations into his activities and his other cronies have commenced.
