2015 elections: Seun Kuti berates Jonathan, artistes

Afro artiste and son of the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun Kuti has berated the government of President Jonathan and his style of leadership.
Seun Anikulapo Kuti, who tweets @realseunkuti also blamed the youth of the country for failing to take to the streets and demand a stop to embezzlement perpetrated by elected government officials.

He also warned young artistes to desist from praising or singing for politicians in preparation for election, stressing that any artiste that is involved will be made to account for the deeds of the politicians.

It is common knowledge that politicians employ artistes to sing their praise in preparation to an election, with the aim of wooing the younger population which constitutes a major voting bloc. Popular artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo, D’banj, was condemned for patronising Jonathan during the 2011 elections while Fuji artiste, Wasiu Ayinde, Kwam 1, is a known ally of APC’s National leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Seun’s father, Fela, is regarded as Nigeria’s fearless and fiercest critic of successive government, which landed him in jails on several occasions and it seems Seun has not just taken after music from his father.
