Edo State Police Command is investigating the death of a 70-year-old man, identified as David, who slumped and died Thursday after a marathon sex with his lover said to be a married woman.
Meanwhile, tragedy struck yesterday in Benin City after four students of the College of Agriculture, Igueoriakhi were feared dead in a motor accident along the Benin Warri bypass.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that the 70 year old man who left his house for the hotel at about 12noon Thursday gave up the ghost before he was rushed to the hospital. A son of of the deceased who did not disclose his name said his father left their house that afternoon but was shocked when they were called that he had been rushed to Benin Central Hospital.
“We were called by the police to come to Central Hospital only to be shown the corpse of my Dad” he wept.
Doctors on duty said the deceased was brought stone dead to the hospital. Surprisingly, the deceased woman lover was also seated at the hospital before policemen men ferried her out so as to prevent attack from the family of the deceased. The corpse was deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary.
However, the Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Folunso Adebanjo, said the Command is investigating the cause of death. “So I cannot tell you much now because doctors have to do their jobs while we also interrogate people around him”.
In another development, 13 persons were also said to have sustained various degrees of injury in the accident which involved a commercial bus. The accident occurred as a result of a deflated tyre. Doctors at the Benin Central Hospital were battling to save the lives of the victims as at the time of filling this report.
Narrating their ordeal, one of the victims who gave his name as Messiah Attah, said they were going from Igueoriakhi to Delta state for a burial when the tyre of the vehicle suddenly burst and the bus somersaulted.
“Some of my friends are dead now” he wept.
Messiah said they were on their way to Delta to attend the burial of one of their friend’s grandmother.
