INEC: Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise for Ekiti and Osun (See Date and Procedure)



Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise for Ekiti and Osun is scheduled for March 12 – 19, 2014.

CVR allows for the registration of Nigerians that have turned 18 years after the last Voter Registration exercise

GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF CVR

The registration process is based on the following principles:

1. #CVR is personal and proxy is not allowed. Anyone who wishes to register should come in person for registration. No proxy can represent another person in registration

2. Registration occurs only once A voter can only register once. They cannot register in more than one Registration center...If the voter has residence in more than one constituency, he/she must choose only one location to register.

3. Registration is a prerequisite for voting in elections: Registration in the register is a prerequisite for exercising the right to vote. Those whose names are not registered shall not be able to cast their votes on election day even if he/she meets the other requirements

4. Registration is public Registration is conducted in public in order to be monitored by observers, party agents and media outlets
