Gunmen invade senators farm house, steal 104 cows

Gunmen in the early hours of Sunday invaded the farm house of a senator, Solomon Ewuga, in his country home in Alushi, Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area. The attackers are believed to have stolen 104 cows.

The farm house is directly behind Mr. Ewuga’s country home.
Mr. Ewuga, who represents Nasarawa North senatorial district, confirmed the attack to PREMIUM TIMES.
“They came early morning, tied  the security man and gave him sample of bullets to show the police before they locked him up  in his room and took away 104 cows.

“They didn’t kill or harm anybody; but two of the cows that couldn’t make it have returned back to the farm,” the senator said.

Mr. Ewuga, who was recently indicted by a Nasarawa judicial commission of sponsoring an ethnic militia, Ombatse, that killed scored of security operatives last year, said it was clear that cattle rustlers have entered the state.

“This is not the first time, last year they stole over a 100 cows belonging to Mr. John Mamman, a former permanent secretary in the state. And a day after, they stole my own I heard they also stole that of Honourable Gyunka Philip, a member of the state assembly who also owns a farm,” he said.
