Sokoto State police command has arrested 40 suspected miscreants who were in possession of dangerous weapons, state commissioner of police, Alhaji Shaibu Gambo has said.
Disclosing that the suspected miscreants were arrested from different locations within the state metropolis, the CP said that the miscreants were hiding under the shadow of party supporters.
According to him, the police have charged 23 of the suspects to court while the remaining 17 are under further investigation over offences relating to anti-social activities.
The CP advised Sokoto youths not to allow themselves to be used by selfish politicians for their parochial aim.
He said, “I am sounding a note of warning to miscreants that their time is up. They should not allow themselves to be used by some elements because anybody caught in this process will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
