The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation has accused the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, of using the NOI polls conducted on the popularity of contestants for the governorship seat in Ekiti State to test the ground for the alleged planned rigging of  the election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Mr. Ayo Fayose.

The NOI had published a result of a poll on the June 21 election which rated the PDP candidate, Ayo Fayose, as the most popular with 31 per cent and Fayemi was rated second with 29 per cent. The candidate of the Labour Party was rated third with three per cent and 37 per cent undetermined.

But the spokesperson of campaign organisation of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Dimeji Daniels, in a statement issued on Wednesday  said that the survey was purportedly conducted inside an office in Abuja and the result of the “ voodoo polls” was  published to prepare the ground for rigging.

The APC leaders in the state therefore urged the people of the state to ignore the result of the survey and be ready ro defend their votes to prevent election riggers from subverting their will.

The statement reads, “The result of the voodoo exercise does not reflect and cannot be reflective of the realities on the ground here in Ekiti State.

We hereby urge Ekiti people to be vigilant. We wish to state categorically that NOI Polls is nothing but an acronym for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala polls, the real owner of the company.

“Our people would recall that the All Progressives Congress at the national level has indeed challenged Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to publicly deny her ownership of the company. Expectedly, she has kept mum on the matter. We again reiterate that challenge.”
