Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has once again rejected the Nigeria Football Federation’s offer, to add a foreign assistant to his technical crew.

According to a top NFF official, Keshi was given the chance to pick any foreign coach of his choice to assist him, but the 52-year-old refused and instead, asked for his former assistant, Sylvanus Okpala, to be re-appointed.

However, the chances of Okpala returning are small, as NFF president Aminu Maigari has ruled out the possibility.

“Okpala was disengaged. He is not the first coach to be disengaged. Why should he be recalled?” Maigari told newsmen during a chat in South Africa.

“Nigeria is such a big country, blessed with a lot of talents. There are so many competent coaches in this country. It is nothing personal.”
