Nasarawa Deputy Governor Hoists PDP Flag in Office (See Photo)

Barely a week after he defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nasarawa State deputy governor, Dameshi Barau Luka has lowered the flag of his old party, the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and has hoisted that of the PDP in his office.

Staff at the office of the deputy governor, located along Shendam Road, Lafia and others working in the premises said they resumed work yesterday to notice the change.

“I reported for work as early as 8am, to see that the office of the deputy governor is now carrying a new flag,” a staff in one of the offices within the same premises told Daily Trust. “I don’t know when they removed the other flag.

I also don’t know when they raised the new one. I only noticed the development this morning.”

The development is coming after Luka had declared at the PDP secretariat where he defected last week, that he will lower the APC flag at both his office and on his convoy, and replace them with the PDP’s.
Luka said he was compelled to take the action because he felt betrayed by his principal, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
