The suspects pleaded not guilty.
An Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday remanded two men who allegedly abducted and raped a 17-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, remanded Oliver Monday, 34, and Solomon Okoro, 36, until the girl would appear before the court.
He adjourned the case to March 19.
The two suspects are traders and live at different parts of Lagos.
They are facing a seven-count charge bordering on abduction, assault, conspiracy, damage and rape.
The Prosecutor, Nicholas Akpene, told the court that the offences were committed between October 2013 and February 2014 at Mr. Monday’s residence.
The prosecution said that the first accused, abducted the teenager for the purpose of abusing her sexually.
“The girl’s parents tried all they could to find her but to no avail until the girl was seen with the first accused by one of their relatives.
“When the first accused was told that the girl’s parents were coming with police, he went to their house in the company of the second accused.
“They threatened to kill them if they reported to the police and damaged some of their electronics appliances,” he said.
Mr. Akpene, a police corporal, said that Monday also abused the girl sexually.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections, 141, 137, I71, 259, 267, 348 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
