“I don’t have President Jonathan’s number so I couldn’t text to wish him well” – Amaechi

During a live radio programme in Port
Harcourt yesterday, the Rivers governor
slammed President Goodluck Jonathan once
again, saying that, ”The past FG
administration did so many things for the
state. They built refineries, petrol chemical
companies and other projects, but the
present administration has not done anything
for the State. I am worried that we have not
benefited much from the present FG. If we are
from the South-South, do to me the way you
do to others. What you are doing to others
you should do it to us.”
Asked whether he sent a text message to the
president to wish him well following the
president’s illness, Amaechi said he does not
have the telephone number of President
Goodluck Jonathan.
“I don’t have his (Jonathan’s) number. I learnt
he was not well and I wish him well. We are
meeting with the President on Sunday. I wish
the meeting will hold. I don’t have any
personal issue with Jonathan other than the
issues that concern the state. Politics is about
interest. That you are our son does not mean
we will support you when you don’t have our
interest at heart. We as a state have not
benefited anything from the present
administration led by President Jonathan for
the past six years,” he said.
The governor however wished the president
well via his twitter handle on the day he fell ill
in London.
