Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, has kicked against Wednesday’s demand by the Nigeria Premier League Club Chairmen/Owners for the League Management Company  to wind up its activities, theNews Agency of Nigeria reports.

Abdullahi told reporters  on Thursday in Abuja that he was not in support of the decision.

He said only the Nigeria Football Federation  had the right to terminate the existence of the LMC.

He said, “The LMC was a creation of the NFF and as it (NFF) rightly pointed out in a statement, it is only the NFF that can determine when the tenure of the LMC is over.

“The tenure of the LMC is not a law of the National Assembly. It was determined by the NFF. So, the NFF can decide whether it wants the LMC to continue or not.”

He said if the NFF wanted, it could say the LMC would stop to exist even before the tenure it initially gave it was over.
