We performed well this year, says FG

Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku

The Federal Government on Wednesday said it performed well in the outgoing year in terms of caring for the well-being of Nigerians.
Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said this while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council’s last meeting for the year.
Maku was joined at the briefing by the supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda.
The minister said the federal council deliberated on the draft 2012-2013 annual performance report of the administration.
He said while the Federal Government made tremendous success in its bid to make life more meaningful for Nigerians in the outgoing year, more work would be done in the New Year.
He said the cabinet members had resolved to remain focused on their targets despite the increase in political activities that would characterise 2014.
He said, “This year has been particularly good for this administration. Railway services were restored. Tremendous growth was recorded in agriculture and sports.
“There has never been a better year with these numbers of laurels we won in sports. No time in our history that we have recorded these achievements in one year.
“We will work hander next year. We will keep our eyes on target despite the lot of politics that will come up. Generally, it has been a productive year for the government.”
Yuguda said the FEC approved the draft of the annual performance monitoring report and asked that Ministries, Departments and Agencies would make observation that would be sent to his ministry.
The report, he said, would be formally presented to the public early next year.
