Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has revealed that he is considering leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abubakar, who paid a visit to Governor Adams Oshiomhole at the Edo State Government House on Wednesday, said he was in the state as part of his consultations round the country on his next political move.
The former Vice President said the leadership of the APC led by General Mohammadu Buhari, the interim party chairman, Bisi Akande, Bola Tinubu and other leaders of the party visited and urged him to return to the party.
He said he was in the state to consult with the supporters in the South South.
Oshiomhole remarked however that the beauty of democracy is that citizens will have a government they deserve at any point in time adding that in politicking, politicians should recognize that it is all about Nigeria and Nigerians and not their selfish interests.
He wished the former Vice President God’s wisdom in reaching a decision that would impact positively on the people of the country.
The Governor and the former Vice President later went into a closed-door meeting.
