Mr. Ebere Wabara |
There is no respite yet for the embattled associate editor of Sun newspaper, Mr. Ebere Wabara as an Umuahia magistrate court Monday issued a bench warrant for his arrest for jumping bail barely 32 hours after he was granted police bail.
The order for his re-arrest followed his failure to appear in court when he was arraigned on Monday on 10 count charges of “seditious publications with intent to bring hatred or contempt or excite disaffection against the person” of Governor Theodore Orji of Abia state.
Wabara, who is also the media adviser to the former governor of Abia state, Dr Orji Uzor, was granted bail on Saturday night and released to the Sun correspondent in Umuahia, Mr. Chuks Onuoha, who stood in as surety, with the condition that the suspect would be produced in court on Monday.
