Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has said the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, has not resigned from the Federal Executive Council.
The party was reacting to media reports and speculations in the state that Wike has resigned as minister of education.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt Monday by Mr. Jerry Needam, special adviser on media to the state PDP Chairman, Chief Felix Obuah, said, “The Honourable Minister has not resigned his membership of the Federal Executive Council and has not at the moment contemplated doing so. He remains the Supervisory Minister for Education.”
The party blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the ‘rumour’, adding that it was part of the strategies employed by the opposition to whip up sentiment against the PDP.
