According to the result announced Sunday night, the ruling party in the state, the All Progressive Congress [APC] won in six local government areas while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] dominated in four.
The election in three local governments were declared inconclusive by the electoral commission.
The PDP had earlier today shot into the lead when the electoral body declared its candidates in Kokona, Keffi, Keana and Nasarawa Eggon local government areas as winners.
But the APC rallied back, winning Awe, Doma, Wamba, Karu, Toto, and Lafia local government councils.
The commission declared the elections in Nasarawa, Obi and Akwanga as inconclusive.
However, the PDP was initially declared winner in Akwanga and Obi by their respective returning officers.
But the electoral commission’s boss, Abdullahi Modibbo, overruled the returning officers, saying the elections in those local governments were inconclusive.
He said elections would be held in four wards in Akwanga and in three wards in Obi.
Akwanga is the local government of Deputy Governor Damishi Luka, who recently defected from the APC to the PDP
